We caught some great pictures of Izzy and her Auntie Lynn. We had everyone over for Father's Day and had a great time. (Ethan 7 mo and Izzy 15 mo).
This blog is a story of two parents, both special educaton teachers, trying to raise a first grader and a precocious preschooler. We love to travel, cook, tend to our "backyard farm", and spend time with each other.

Izzy and her Auntie
We caught some great pictures of Izzy and her Auntie Lynn. We had everyone over for Father's Day and had a great time. (Ethan 7 mo and Izzy 15 mo).
More words
Izzy's teacher said that they have been working on identifying fruits and vegetables and she tells them tomato, eggplant, and apple. Yes, eggplant. Yummy!
Izzy is a champion flyer
Izzy is a great flyer. We got all the way to Orange County with no problems, but please don't ask me to go any further. She is a great kid who was so good going through security and when I asked her to sit and put her shoes on, she sat and tried. My favorite time was sitting next to her watching the airplanes while she was eating her 1st Happy Meal. Another fun situation was listening to Izzy call the little baggage carts that move the baggage onto the plane, a train. Which if you look at it, it does look like a train.
Friends visit
We had such a great time when Auntie Amanda and Uncle Bruce came over with Joshua and Henry. We went to breakfast, Fairy Tale Town, had some dinners together, learned to hit off of a tee, and water play. We were sad to see them go back to Orange County and wish they lived closer. We will see them in a few weeks just after Henry's 2nd birthday.

Izzy's words
After wondering if she would ever speak, she is beginning to produce an ever expanding vocabulary. Currently it is: no, please, thank you, mama, dada, ba-ba (bottle), bath, milk, and water.
She can be prompted to say almost anything including lately: flower, shoes, Too-ga, and grandpa.
She can also sign: dog, milk, thank you, please, more, water, and bath.
