Our First Hospital Visit

We left Tuesday for our first Annual family camping trip with my parents (okay out first family vacation in many years). We camped at Redwood State Park up in Myers Flat (Humboldt County). I have stayed there three times and it only seems to get better. Izzy was a real trooper because there are a lot of no's when camping. Well on one of her side trips to walk around the campground, Kari and Tyler (Kari's boyfriend) took Izzy around and they were swinging Izzy and of course she was probably giggling and laughing, having a ball. Well on one of those swings they heard a pop and then her arm went somewhat limp and she screamed. They brought her back to the campsite and told us what happened and we thought it was just a little strain until she wouldn't stop crying and was tapping on her bad arm with her good hand. So we put her in jammies and made the decision to go to the emergency room. Kari thought it might be a Nursemaid's fracture. So she luckily works at a hospital 60 miles from out campground so as soon as we got reception she was calling ahead to the hospital. Paul, Izzy, Kari, and Tyler all went to the hospital and of course Izzy slept on the way. We got there and come to find out Kari was right she had Nursemaid's elbow. So the doctor gave Izzy a little handshake and popped the elbow back into place and she was immediately free of pain and able to use her arm. It was the craziest thing. I have great pictures to finish this story but I can't put them up till Auntie Kari gets back from working at Reggae on the River (so stay tuned)...
