This blog is a story of two parents, both special educaton teachers, trying to raise a first grader and a precocious preschooler. We love to travel, cook, tend to our "backyard farm", and spend time with each other.

Life
Since going back to work, we have had to learn to be apart. Reesie has done a good job of being a good girl for Daddy. She tests him, but he is learning, catch her early and she won't get so frustrated. I am sad when I get home and only have about 4 hours with the kids before they go to bed and that counts Reesie's dinner time nap. So I snuggle her as long as I can and then set her down at night to know I won't see her till the next afternoon. Yes, the baby sleeps through the night and doesn't wake up till after I have left at 630am. What infant sleeps that long? But she sleeps well during the day and eats like a champ, so she doesn't need to see me at night. I can already see her new milestones. She is beginning to lock her legs when we hold her up to stand. She is beginning to roll about 45 degrees and is only a matter of time before she just rolls herself right over. We are about 3-4 weeks away from trying solid foods slowly. But I secretly hope that she is ready for birthday cake in October. I am impressed by her smiles and the lovely sounds that come out of her mouth. She is thinner than Izzy was, but longer. She shows us those dimples and we all swoon. We just love that baby!
