"Princess"

We got a beautiful gift from Uncle Henry and Aunt Olga for Izzy's birthday. It was a purple Tu-Tu with a purple wand. Last night when we were watching Dancing with the Stars, which Izzy is never awake for, so she has never seen it before, she was babbling too us about something she needed. Neither Paul or I knew what she wanted so I had her show me. She led me to her room and pointed in her closet for her "Princess". She wanted to be a princess by wearing the skirt and dancing like the people on the tv. The skirt signifies to her "beauty". Then she went into her flying adventures off the coffee table (see post "No Hands").

A First Experience with Science

(The fingers in the mouth are because she is cutting her bottom molars).

We have had very weird weather and poor Izzy gets the side effects of a bad wind. Her hair just takes that static electricity and runs every which way. Paul experimented with my hair too so that she could see what she looked like.

Painting

We try to paint several times a week and until we get an easel we do a lot of painting outside, on rugs in the kitchen, or in the bath tub. Auntie Kari brought over some paints and painted with Izzy while she was here. I am surprised how well Acrylics clean off and how cheap they are (less than a $1 at Michael's).

Containing the Rice

After seeing how much Izzy loved playing in the new, bright tubs at school (they have Moon Sand in theirs), I decided it is time to contain the rice. She loves playing with the rice, but it goes everywhere which is fine if she is having fun and learning. I can vacuum it up later. I found a $4 container at Wal-Mart and will be able to use it for beans, rice, water, etc. Now if only I can train her to keep her things in the bucket.

No Hands

Okay, so we let Izzy jump from the coffee table to us when we are sitting on the couch. I know I shouldn't let her jump from the furniture, but I feel bad that she has no climbing structure and she needs time to climb and jump. So she usually jumps to Paul who stretches his hands out while Izzy goes into a long rendition of "1, 2, 3, 4" (yes, most kids jump on 3, not mine, 4). Tonight she decided right before her count down to Paul, she waves Paul's arms out of the way and says "No hands Daddy". My daredevil has started to jump with no hands to catch her. Talk about a kid who needs a pool.

Potty Training Update

Our consistency is paying off. Izzy has been out of diapers during the day since late January with about one accident a week. We were waiting till we were on Spring Break before we ventured into absolutely no diapers. We have been doing that for one week and she woke up every night wet even with no milk/water 2-3 hours before, a million trips to the potty, her potty in her bedroom, lots of reminders, etc., etc. Last night we had a break through. She woke up completely wet. I was worried because we are going to travel to Mi-Ma and Grandpa's this next week and was thinking about putting her back into diapers, but I think that once we go for it, I need to make sure she knows we mean it. So we are done. No more diapers until we have another kid. Yeah Izzy! Only took us 25 months.
