This blog is a story of two parents, both special educaton teachers, trying to raise a first grader and a precocious preschooler. We love to travel, cook, tend to our "backyard farm", and spend time with each other.

Tot School
Came home today to an amazing learning experience. Paul had hung the school calendar on the inside of the coat closet, created a sign for the months of the year, velcroed days of the week so they could be moved around in order, and drew shapes from point and line to decagon and octagon. Izzy cut all the purple numbers for her calendar (yes, 15 numbers and they look awesome) and Paul cut the orange ones. So they have odds and evens and a 1:1 pattern. Isn't this great? They have been working on their first letter B. All of their activities (bank, bakery), food, books, etc. have been B related. Izzy also traced really good B's and has been making some lovely butterfly symmetry art and beans glued on butterflies. They have been working on it for a week and transition tomorrow to the letter F. I will put pictures up tomorrow.
