Izzy is growing up

Well, today was her first day of transition. They warned me it will be a short time (30 minutes or so) and she may cry and they will bring her back and try the next day. So I didn't get my hopes up when I came to pick her up. I walked in her room and couldn't find Izzy. The teachers with smiles on their faces came up to share that she was still over in the toddler class and that they had been peeking in and she would wave and then go back to what she was doing. My little one spent 6 hours in the big girl class (930 to 330) all by herself. They said she did really well and I actually think they were somewhat surprised. Paul and I aren't. She is a smart cookie. Can you imagine her language skills now exploding being around these older kids? Our little one is growing up too quick.

Just yesterday she looked like this and was so helpless, now I have an emerging "monster" on my hands. Ohh, how I long sometimes for the easy days (minus I do like the sleep I am getting now).

Table Climbing

Okay, so I am a horrible parent. I confess. I let my child climb on the table. At the beginning it was cute, now I need to get strong and say, "No". After a very fussy ride home where I told Paul I would pay a million dollars for the technology to beam my car into the garage instead of sitting in the car listening to Izzy whine, I decided to give her some space. Well that kind of backfired. She decided as you can see from the pictures that it would be more fun to turn Mommy's dining room table into a sand box.

A Dog for Izzy

Who said a 170 lb Mastiff is not lovable??? Izzy and her "Will-Will".

Conditioning Practice Begins at 17 months

Who said 17 months is too young to start 'conditioning'. Okay, maybe instead of getting ready to play sports she is practicing being a 'student'? (Another picture I will put in her Senior yearbook page right next to her eating dog food).

Shoes

I recently read an article on different traits and associations that girls and boys exhibit. Up until recently I could almost label Izzy as a "tomboy"; however, playing with an airplane and wearing high heels doesn't really sound like a "tomboy". I think our little "girl" is starting to show herself.

Playing with cars

So I was wondering when she would start playing with cars, for Izzy 17 months old. Maybe some kids play with cars earlier, but not mine. She had no interest up until a few a days ago. (Sorry for the picture of Willow. Her grace in front of the camera is not so graceful).

Corn on the Cob

Have I told you about my complete wonder of, "How does this kid know how to eat corn on the cob?"
