This blog is a story of two parents, both special educaton teachers, trying to raise a first grader and a precocious preschooler. We love to travel, cook, tend to our "backyard farm", and spend time with each other.

Drinking out of the Lion's Mouth
We have spent a lot of time recently at Home Depot or Lowe's. Izzy is facinated by the water fountains. While Paul was in line purchasing our things, Izzy and I were by the fountains. Izzy was up by one that has a lion's mouth and the water comes out of the mouth. Izzy said, "Mommy lion?" I said yes it is a lion. She then proceeded to drink from the lion's mouth. As I was screaming no, no. She told me, "Mommy, agua?" I had to briefly and simply explain yes it is water, but we can't drink it. That doesn't make sense to me, so I am sure she has no clue why mommy is telling her no you can't drink from the beautiful fountain. Then I had a vision of us getting a fountain and having both her and the dogs drinking from the lion's mouth. (I am laughing at the sight, how about you?).
