Fun with Toddler

We have done so many things this week. Here are some of our favorites.

• I took her down to her school for an animal education show. It was well worth us driving in for. She got to touch a blue tongue skink, a bird, a hedgehog, an albino snake, and a salamander. Paul and I both thought that she seemed to think that it was her own private show and wanted more one-on-one time with the animals. The presenter was great and it was perfect for a group of 25 two year olds. http://naturescritters.com/ I highly recommend it.

• I bought a $1 can of shaving cream. Not only was a load of fun and sensory time for her (seems to calm her), it is so easy to clean up and smells good after.

• When I was doing dishes I gave her some bowls and this is where she took it. I truly didn't mind the mess. Everything needs to be cleaned anyways. Just gives me an excuse. She was also very helpful and realized without being asked that she needed to get her broom.

• We have gone swimming 3 times in two weeks up at the GAP http://gap.yubacity.net/. Today was a just for toddlers. The good part was we didn't have to compete with those that could move a lot quicker than us, the bad part is, yes a complaint, it was cold today. I never thought I would say that here, but it was too cold. So we spent about 45 minutes in the pool and then 45 minutes at the park adjacent to the GAP.

• She starts swim lessons the first week of Aug. Our local public utilities district has a pool and they have $25 swim lessons. So we are going to see how it goes. If it is any good, then we have gotten a great deal. 8 sessions for $25, but then I do pay enough in taxes to supplement the utilities.
• We have gone to the library and post office which are always good when you get to see horses and cows on the way.
• Our next adventure is to the Turtle vs. Tortoise presentation at the Discovery Museum and then Paul and I are going to go see the Abraham Lincoln Smithsonian exhibit. Lots more planned for this summer including a day trip to Yosemite for National Parks free admission day and another event at her school with Francie Dillion an award winning children's artist who we have seen before at the CA museum.
