Things we are doing

Lately, Izzy has wanted to paint. So I have been getting out her paints and paint brushes and having her go at it. Her teacher commented that she really concentrates when she is painting. I then went into explaining that she paints a lot at home and it is something she enjoys. Her latest painting was fun because we did it on wrapping paper after dinner and we all were able to contribute. She liked the octopus that I painted.

We rented a Thomas movie and she is into trains for the moment. We had gotten a pretty large set (as you can see from the picture) from our friends Amanda and Bruce whose kiddos got a new set (love hand-me-downs) and so we pulled that out and played with that in the entry hall. When the weather is too hot to play outside, it is fun to find things to do on the nice, cool tile.

We also made a shaker bottle with water, oil, and food coloring. Izzy used her glass pitchers and a funnel. It was fun. I sort of wish she hadn't chose green as a color since it is kind of hard to see, but it is her's. I am going to try to have her make a few more and then we can also put buttons or glitter in them, and then we can make a bowling set out of them. Should be fun.
